One: Preaching.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

2 Tim. 3:16-17

The first way we care for people in Kingscross is through preaching. Preaching is when a person gives a talk, based on the bible, in the aim of revealing God’s will and ways. This contributes to the believer’s journey with God by transforming their understanding of Him and how they should live their life. It is training in what is true and right for our lives through encouragement, correction, and instruction. Moreover, when God’s Word is accepted, it leads to healthier relationships with ourselves, others and God.

Two: Community Groups.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Hebrews 10:24

Gathering weekly in small groups, called Community Groups (CG), allows for participants to develop strong relationships and track with each other’s spiritual journey. CG leaders are tasked and trained to ensure care is given for those in their CG. This care can directly from the leader, but is usually shared between fellow participants. In CG people are encouraged and discipled in their relationship with Christ and their participation in Kingscross.

Three: Eldership.

Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.

1 Peter 5:2

The Elders are the leaders of the whole church. They are responsible for the direction of the church, to model godly life and to pray for the church. In this way they care for the church as a whole. They also care for specific people in a variety of ways, usually when additional spiritual maturity and experience is required. For example, walking with a couple in need of serious marriage counselling, or if someone has a desire to plant a church. People can approach an elder themselves, or a CG leader might defer a matter to the elders if someone in their group has brought something up they are not equipped to handle.

Four: Professionals.

Sometimes the elders will advise or refer people to professionals or organizations when more serious or involved care is required. This is to ensure that people get the right care and support they need. For example, if someone has a significant mental health issue, it might be appropriate if they also see a counsellor or psychiatrist.
